Italo Lupi, Ico Migliore, Mara Servetto, on the occasion of Expo 2015, have been commissioned to conceive an urban communication installation representing the Nations that will join the international event.
\nThe installation is meant to spread all over the city center area and grow with the Nations that will take part at the Expo along the years, starting from 2011.
\nThe national ensigns are displayed in an original way in the Flags Boulevard, lining up along the walking artery that links the Duomo (Milano Cathedral) to the Castello Sforzesco (Sforza Castle).
\nThe \u201cPalo Milano\u201d (Milano pole), a highly recognizable vertical element created for this occasion, is conceived to be part of the urban rhythm and create an in-progress installation.
\nThis flexible tool offers a sitting base able to transform streets into welcoming places where people can stop by and meet.
\nThe central banner represents a reinterpretation of the all national flags together and shows a couple of slim side banners with the Italian, English and French names of the countries and a small original flag representation that makes every single national identity clearly recognizable.
\nAfter the Expo, \u201cPalo Milano\u201d a self supporting and flexible element, will be left as an heritage to the City of Milano for future uses.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n
