Migliore + Servetto’s “usual” clarity becomes almost a mathematical rule in this office remodelled into a place that allows people to work in a clear, orderly, harmonious way.
This is the outcome of conceptually clear design: a main central corridor to organise and focus the layout; original constructional and technological features that are sophisticated but never intrusive (e.g. the “invisible” lighting and air-conditioning in the private offices), and up-to-the-minute materials and colours (resin floors, birch/steel and Douglas fir/steel fixed furnitures, acid-etched glass partitions, wall masonry in sophisticated shades of green).
Then there is the surprise you always find in the best designs. In this case, walking down the long entry corridor – narrow though not cramped; on the contrary, a space in its own right defined by the ethereal acid-etched glass walls of the meeting rooms and management offices – and finding yourself in an open, welcoming, unexpectedly spacious office environment. The effect is breathtaking, like a sudden shift in scale. And finally, wherever you go, you notice the detailing – beautifully groomed though never flirtatious – and the meticulously chosen designer pieces (tables and storage) so elegantly unlike ordinary office furniture that they hold the promise of classic status.
